Architecture
A latent interest in architecture lead to designing a new residence for a 2½ acre wooded lot. A study of the works of the great architects of the 20th century and a strong liking of “mid century” modern architecture lead to the design of this 3500 sq.ft. story-and-a-half.![[ animated view ]](/avg/anim/H2006071.gif)
On one side it is firmly rooted into the ground, while other sides gracefully overhang
the soil. Thus mimicking the dogwood trees that are prevalent on the designated site.
The wings in the front embrace visitors, inviting them to proceed to the entrance in the
cylindrical tower. The back, facing south, has a large terrace and large glass areas that
for their part invite nature in.
